Yvette DeChavez earned a PhD in Literature from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a Macondo member and an alum of the Tin House Workshop and Sewanee Writers' Conference. Her writing has been published in The Los Angeles Times, American Short Fiction, Passages North, and is forthcoming in Colorado Review.
